Description: The University of Kansas Medical Center is hiring Geriatrician View right now, this vacancy will be designated in Kansas. This position is responsible for supporting activities for the Family Medicine clerkship & Geriatric clerkship, and geriatric training for our residency programs. This person will also provide patient care at c! ommunity long-term care facilities. Depending on credentials, ranking could be higher than Assistant Professor. Required Qualifications

M.D. degree

ABFM certified or eligible

Unrestricted license to practice medicine

Federal narcotics number

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in family medicine education with specific training/experience in geriatrics

Family medicine experience in the field

Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatrics or AMDA Certified Medical Director Long Term Care

Teaching Responsibilities:
Support medical education activities on the Family Medi! cine clerkship and Geriatric Medicine clerkship.

Supp! ort geriatric training in residency programs.

Support community patient education in geriatrics.

Develop electives for medical students and residents.

Assist standardized patient, OSCE and CSA projects.

Present clinical medicine and medical education topics at physician continuing medical education courses.

Participate in institutional committees and activities at the department, campus and school-wide levels.

Clinical Responsibilities:
Provide patient care at community long-term care centers.

Provide care to independent living and assisted living patients at Larksfield Place, Presbyterian Manor and other long-term care settings.

Provide back-up to Larksfield Place medical director and Presbyterian Manor medical director.

Provide medical director services in long-term care settings when required.!

Participate in on-call rotation schedules for nights, weekends and holidays with other faculty.

Research and other scholarly activities:
Develop research expertise with special emphasis on medical education and geriatric research.

Develop, write, implement and oversee grants and contracts that contribute to the educational activities and research development of the department.

Collaborate with family medicine faculty to advance geriatric-related research

Report on research and scholarly activities at professional scientific meetings and through publications.
